About

Hiking in South-East Queensland was started in 2010 when I couldn't find any track notes online for a particular walk that I wanted to do. I decided to start logging my walks and other adventures in this beautiful part of Australia partly for my own records but also so that others could be inspired to try something new or just find their next walk.

The notes provided here are by no means comprehensive and walkers should always prepare themselves with all information available to them. Instead, they are provided as a rough description of what you can expect to see (spoiler alert), and what I found interesting about a particular area.

Myself
I grew up in Brisbane where camping and bushwalking was always the main form of holidays and recreation. Since our teens my brother and I have continued and augmented this tradition and now rock climbing is also a big part of our lives. My amazing wife Maree is now my main bushwalking companion and we get out whenever we can.

Photography has always been an interest and over recent years has become more of an obsession. The blog has therefore also become an outlet for me to display my favourite shots. Recently, my work has won awards in the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation photography competition and can be seen featured on the Queensland National Parks tourism webpage.

I hope you enjoy reading the blog and please do not hesitate to contact me through the comments section with suggestions or just to say hi.
